Breadfruit Curry


INGREDIENTS:
CHOPPED BREADFRUIT(MEDIUM) - 1 CHOPPED ONION - 1 CHOPPED TOMATO(MEDIUM) - 2
GREEN CHILLIES - 2 COOKING OIL - 2 TSP TURMERIC POWDER - 1/2 TSP RED CHILLI POWDER - 1 TO 2 TSP CORIANDER POWDER - 3/4 TSP FENNEL POWDER - 3/4 TSP GARAM MASALA POWDER - 3/4 TSP SHALLOTS - 10 CURRY LEAVES GRATED COCONUT - 1 CUP SALT PER TASTE METHOD:
1. Take one medium size breadfruit and peel off the skin. 2. Rip off the center part and cut into medium size pieces. 3. Wash well with water and keep aside. 4. Pour 2 tsp oil in pressure cooker. 5. Add one chopped onion and saute well. 6.Once it's raw smell goes down, add 2 medium size chopped tomatoes and 2 green chillies. 7. Then add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and salt per taste. 8. Put chopped breadfruit pieces with one& half culp water.Stir well. 9. Pressure cook for one whistle on medium flame. 10. Roast one cup grated coconut in pan. 11. Once it became light golden colour, add ten shallots along with handful of curry leaves. 12. Then add 3/4 tsp of fennel powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder and one or two tsp of red chilli powder. 13. After five minutes of roasting, turn off the stove and let it cool down completely. 14. Once it cooled down, blend well with enough water. 15. Pour this blended masala in boiled breadfruit pieces. 16. Add salt per taste and Stir well. 17. Once the curry is little thickens, turn off the stove. 18. Serve and enjoy with chapati or rice.
